Inertia Dewitt, AMFT 106572
I am an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist working under the supervision of Malaika Hill-Jones, LMFT. I am a firm believer of the innate healing power within the body and I help clients tap into this process through use of somatic and expressive-art therapies. I have experience working with clients recovering from trauma, depression, anxiety and life-transitions, as well as and populations living with severe and persistent mental health diagnoses. I am skilled in facilitating group therapy processes for anger management, women’s empowerment, and social-emotional skills for youth.
My credentials include a BA in Theater Arts with a concentration in Dance, an MFA in Dance with a focus in somatic practices, and most recently an MA in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology. I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher with over 200 hours of training and 8 years teaching experience. As a performance artist, I have had the opportunity to bridge my experience as a mental health practitioner with my creative work by teaching workshops and residencies on the transformational power of embodying courage to women ages 12 to 65.
